One of my best friends has a birthday in the upcoming week. You can imagine how stressful it is for me to find a nice gift, during this pandemic. Since I don’t even go to the office anymore, the idea of having to go out to the shopping malls and risk myself being exposed to the Covid-19 to find a gift is unreasonable. So I went online and googled around for gift ideas and voila! My Instagram and Facebook timeline was flooded with endless ads related to gift ideas for my friend. Thanks, AI!

As of 2020, more than three billion people in the world are active on the Internet. Based on We Are Social Data per January 2020, in Indonesia alone there are 175.4 million internet users, which represents 64% of the total population. As for active social media users, Indonesia has 160 million people. What a huge market!

Ganeshbabu on their journal titled “A Study on the Impact of Social Media Marketing Trends on Digital Marketing,” said that mobile devices have become increasingly popular, and this has played a role in the way consumers interact with media and has many further implications on TV ratings, advertising, mobile commerce, and more. 

Enough with the reasoning, and I bet you understand already the importance of your brand presence in the digital world especially in the social media channel. Cited from the same journal, here are three things that you can do to maximize social media marketing.


1. Image-centric content for social media marketing

Social media users are becoming more engaged in sharing images and liking them. For an internet marketer, this is a good opportunity to grow the social signals that will give your brand a better search rank. Image content can be very enticing among the social media users that offer a good online exposure of a brand. The image-centric content has become one of the social media marketing trends embraced by Atlanta’s social media marketing companies that are likewise integrated into their search engine optimization campaigns under the principle that images are known to boost a brand’s exposure to the search engine users. 

2. Social integration to email marketing

Email marketing is viewed by digital marketers as one of the pillars for successful lead conversion. The widespread use of email marketing remains to be prevalent despite the latest trend in digital marketing and marketers are taking the initiative of integrating social media marketing, and it is able to further strengthen your business lead conversions. By using social media, your leads will find it easier to make a buying decision if they see your brand within their friends’ social feeds. 3. Word of mouth advertising is powerful

So it is important to engage with the community, influencers that really influence their followers, not only so-called influencers. It is able to help strengthen your brand presence on social media. And it is hoped that the followers will talk and do the word of mouth among them. 


It has been found that in the case of digital marketing the most important aspect is to connect with the users. The ladder of engagement has shown the approaches to attach to the customers. Also, it is important for the brand to design an effective platform in order to utilize digital marketing effectively. It has become important as well for the brands to integrate all the systems with that of the digital platform.
